Founders Bio:

Nancy Lofton Jenkins is the passionate Founder and CEO of Bridges 2 New Beginnings, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering women reentering society after incarceration or legal challenges. With over 20 years of experience in the medical field, Nancy’s life took an unexpected turn when she found herself in a serious legal situation—fighting for her freedom and her future.
Despite the principle that one is “innocent until proven guilty,” Nancy experienced firsthand the harsh reality that for many Black individuals, the system often sees them as guilty until proven innocent. During this time, she lost her long-standing career in healthcare and began searching for resources to help rebuild her life. What she found was a system with little support and even fewer opportunities for people in her situation.

Rather than give up, Nancy turned her personal hardship into a mission. She had long dreamed of starting a nonprofit—and now, her pain became her purpose. From what felt like rock bottom, Nancy realized that God was giving her a chance to start over, and through that realization, Bridges 2 New Beginnings was born.

Today, Nancy leads the organization with strength, compassion, and faith, offering women a pathway to transformation through transitional housing, job readiness, mental health support, life skills training, and more. Her story is proof that with faith and determination, it’s possible not only to survive—but to rebuild, thrive, and help others do the same.
